Shane Robinson (BENG)
Director

Shane has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a minor in Business. He also has a strong entrepreneurial background and a unique blend of engineering and management skills. Shane still works at the forefront of LED lighting technology, is named on 18 separate patents and patent applications, and provides consulting expertise to the industry. He has strong expertise in renewable energy technologies and leads the development of Powersmart’s products. Shane’s role at Powersmart also has him managing technical sales, business development, supply relationships, the technical aspects of business development, system design, technology monitoring, and product innovation.

Dean Parchomchuk (BENG)
Director

Dean has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and had previously worked as a field engineer in the high growth North American grid-tie solar industry with one of the industry’s leading companies for 6 years. He has designed and commissioned grid-tie solar systems as large as 100 kW, and worth over $1.2 million. Dean is highly experienced in many important aspects of solar power systems including mechanical design, installation procedures, and training. Dean’s skills and experience are essential to the Powersmart team. He also designed our proprietary roof mounting method and makes sure our systems are consistent with global best practice.

Mike Bassett-Smith (BCOM)
Director

Mike has a Bachelor of Commerce and has studied how finance relates to the renewable energy industry since early university. His understanding of the relationship between finance and sustainability lead the University of Victoria, Canada, to offer him an open invitation to pursue a self directed PhD in this field. More recently he has been working for ANZ as a Business Development Analyst, and has provided financial solutions to some of NZ’s high profile companies. He has a strong entrepreneurial background, a large commercial network in NZ/AU, and valuable experience in corporate growth and investment. He manages Powersmart’s business development, finance, marketing, commercial partnerships and future growth plans.
