Several items of paperwork are required to begin and complete a solar power system installation. Powersmart handles this process for our system customers and will help fill out the required paperwork and organise required approvals and inspections.
Lines Company Consent
Prior to installation you are required to notify (and sometimes apply for consent) to your local electrical network provider.
Council Consent
Generally, a building consent is required for installing a solar power system in New Zealand. Powersmart provides a complete council consent package with each system that gives the council all the information needed to provide consent for the installation.
Meter Change Over
Your electricity retailer will require either an additional electrical meter to be installed, or the existing one changed to accommodate the solar power system. The specific meters and wiring protocols differ in each area and with each retailer. Powersmart will contact your retailer on your behalf and organise the appropriate change for you.
