With mum, dad and three kids our family of five consume quite a lot of electricity. Running a spa pool, fridges, freezer’s, heating and digital devices, it has been hard to keep the power bills under control.

Our 5.75kw grid tied system was installed in April 2013 and has been cranking out plenty of electricity over the winter months.

Since the installation we have changed the way we consume electricity and try to use the majority of our electricity during the day when the system is producing at its peak. Simple things like using the dishwasher, washing machine and charging electronic devices during the day. I’ve also installed 24 hour timers on the hot water cylinder, fridge and freezer in the garage so they only operate during the day. These small changes have started to add up and made a difference as well as giving us control over our power bills.
