Tokelau wins EECA award
3 June 2014

The Tokelau project has been recognised once more, this time at the 2014 EECA awards, where it won the Right House Renewable Energy Award. Marc and Jake went up to Auckland to attend the awards with the team from the Government of Tokelau. This was a truely ground breaking project both in terms of logistics to get it completed and in the outcome that it delivered to the people of Tokelau. By investing in Solar Power they have been able to rid themselves of the burden of solely burning deisel to generate power. 90% of their power is now coming from Solar PV panels installed by PowerSmart.

The Tokelau Solar Power Project is once more in the news too with a great article in the NZ Herald this morning.

"We have never had a project go so smoothly, they finished two weeks ahead of schedule."

Dan Udy - Director: Udy Group

"We deal with a great number of contractors and would rate PowerSmart's delivery onsite as amongst the very best"

Jason Happy - National Facilities Manager at Kiwi Property
