Northern Cooks Off Grid Solar Electricity Project
16 April 2015

Finally we can show you some footage from our project, "Uira Natura Ki Te Tokerau" or Natural Energy for the North. This project is currently underway and is being done in partnership with the New Zealand Aid Programme.

"Uira Natura Ki Te Tokerau" is about installing state of the art off-grid solar electricicity systems on some very remote pacific atolls. In many cases the only way to access these islands is by long boat trips or flights in very small planes.

As of the end of March 2015 systems have been installed on Rakahanga, Pukapuka, Nassau and Palmerston. This video features photographs from the installation of these four islands.
