Zespri installs solar on new headquarters

A  newly commissioned system 61kW solar PV system is sitting pretty atop of the new Zespri Headquarters in Mount Maunganui.

For PowerSmart this was an exciting project to be working on a state of the art new build just down the road from our own Headquarters. It was also hugely satisfying to be able to help Zespri on their way to achieving their sustainability goals with the project through the use of solar electricity.

Zespri's Chief Financial Officer Dave Hazlehurst says. "We've incorporated some features to make the building more efficient and sustainable like a smart facade, efficient heating, air conditioning, water recycling, and solar electricity."

The new building will be the hub for kiwifruit industry with facilities to host growers, government officials and international trade delegations on behalf of the industry. With over $40 million being spent on the building, landscaping and outfitting it will be truly a landmark building for the area.
